Catrine Näsmark
Born in 1970 and raised in Djursholm
Catrine has a long education within the artistic guild: 1 year at the Nyckelvik school and 5 years at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the line for Scenography (Master of Arts)
Catrine often paints what is or has been a part of her life. All the motorbikes or old cars she had and then sold have become paintings. A meeting or a story is painted. A horse ride becomes inspiration for the next painting.
Portrait painting is also a large part of her artistry, something she has worked on for the past 25 years. Among some who had their portraits painted by Catrine Näsmark are King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, whose artwork can be seen at the Royal Palace in Stockholm; the anniversary room.
She has also held courses in portrait painting under the auspices of the National Museum. Although set design occupied her earlier days, Catrine soon left stage design to devote herself entirely to painting and portraiture.
Her art has been shown at, Stockholm's Ulvsunda Castle, Djursholm's Castle, Bromma Airport, Katarina Church and art galleries in Stockholm such as Konsthandel Couleur and Galleri Wallmark.
